Music Drive 2025

The 70th SSMA Music Drive will be the morning of September 20, 2025

  • Parents/guardians of performing arts high school students can volunteer to drive using the form below

What is the Music Drive?

High School students from all music and theater groups (all bands, choirs, orchestras, plays, musicals, etc.) will walk throughout Shrewsbury selling $10 season tickets to the six school-year concert performances. This is a major fundraiser for Shrewsbury Public Schools performing arts programs. Mark the date in your calendar to save it!  All high school performing arts students are expected to participate in this fun fundraiser run by the SSMA.

What are the season tickets?

Unlike the elementary and middle school concerts, admission is charged for high school concerts, and season tickets save family and friends money over multiple performances. In fact, most people coming to performances are there on a season ticket. And as an added benefit to the SSMA, it gives us a clear indicator of our year’s finances as early as September. The season tickets are for music concerts only, not for theater or musical theater performances. Nevertheless, the funds generated by the Music Drive helps both music and theater programs.

Thank you for volunteering!

VOLUNTEER to Drive for the Drive!

We need drivers! Parent/guardian drivers will shuttle/chaperone students 8:30a–1:00p on Saturday September 20th. Sign up for the Music Drive now at the form below! It’s as easy as 1… 2… 3! This data will be kept for the Music Drive only and will not be shared with any other group, inside or outside of the SSMA or Shrewsbury Public Schools.

Step 1. Your contact info

Volunteer drivers must be parents/guardians of students in SHS performing arts.  Otherwise, contact us at ssma@townisp.com to volunteer for other projects! Students may NOT be drivers for the Music Drive.

Step 2. Your route preference

View the town route map (opens in a new window/tab) and let us know your top three (3) preferences. We will assign you and your student(s) to one of these routes (or we will reach out if they have all been claimed).

Warning

Our routes our intended to be completed by a team of four students. Please let us know how many can fit in your vehicle so we can make adjustments as necessary.

Step 3. CORI check

If you volunteer, then your child will be assigned to your car (along with the classmates who sign up for your car).  However, all adults volunteering in the public school MUST be CORI checked within the past three years. We are required by School Department, to verify CORI clearance for any volunteer working with students of the Shrewsbury Public Schools.  Clearance lasts for 3 years, it’s free, and it’s valuable for every parent who may at sometime want to help out as volunteer for the schools’ performing arts programs and directors, with athletic groups, after school programs, field trips, or any of the many enriching programs sponsored by the Shrewsbury Public Schools.

Download the CORI form, and bring it to the School Department central office at Town Hall (100 Maple Ave). Please consider starting that process today as it will require a few weeks to complete the process with the state.
